Expectations for Writing Bear Facts Articles

• Make sure you answer the questions who, what, where, when, why and how.
• Everything you write should be school appropriate and in no way hurtful to other students or staff.
• Try to put a positive spin on what you write.  Even a losing sports team has many proud moments. Do not complain, but rather find solutions to problems.
• Try to ask a variety of people to answer survey questions. For some, it may be the first time they are ever mentioned in the paper.
• Get quotes for your articles, especially sports articles.
• Be thorough in your research. Talk to the coach or advisor of a group, or make up a questionnaire for them to answer in writing if you don’t have time to talk.
• Meet your deadlines. The Shawano Leader has a deadline for me to meet, and I can’t do that if I don’t have your article.
• Turn your articles in electronically (Word) to Mrs. Siolka, either in her teacher drop box or via email.

Kwik Trip gas cards will be sold in November.  Cards are sold at face value and Kwik Trip gives us 10% from the sale of each card.
