Dr. Peter Behnke has worked in the field of education for 40 years and has been the District Administrator for the Bonduel School District for the past 25 years. This scholarship was started by his children to honor Dr. Behnke, his commitment to Bonduel High School, and the legacy he will leave behind. As a recipient of this scholarship the individual must excel in both academics and athletics and be perceived as a “well rounded individual”. These are qualities that Dr. Behnke feels are essential to be successful not only in post high school education but in life.

Scholarship Amount: $500

Criteria for eligibility:

1. Applicant must be a member of the National Honor Society
2. Excel Academically—applicant must have at least at 3.0 GPA to apply
3. Excel Athletically—applicant must have be involved in minimum 2 sports for at least 2 years in high school
4. Applicant must have ZERO violations while in high school
5. Applicant must be a well-rounded student who has excellent character

Criteria: 

• Must be a Bonduel High School graduate
• Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Must be enrolled in a 4-Year college, Technical College, trade school. 

Application Requirements:

Criteria: 

• Must be a Bonduel High School Senior going on to further education – 2 or 4 year 
• Must have a GPA of 3.0  
• Must be a student in good standing

Application Requirements: 

• Submit a copy of your transcripts 
• Submit (3) sealed letters of recommendation.  One from a teacher/staff at school, one from a community leader (minister, business owner, employer) and one from a coach/club leader. 
• Answer these questions on a separate sheet of paper (please type them): 

1. Who has been the most influential person in your life so far and why? 
2. Describe what “living life to the fullest” means to you.  How have you embodied this philosophy in your life so far, and how will this scholarship help you continue doing so through your education and future goals? 

This scholarship will be awarded to one individual in the amount of $2000.00.  The recipient will receive $1000.00 for the first semester and $1000.00 after providing proof of second semester enrollment. 

Please turn all items in to the school counselor by April 6.  Please put all items in a sealed envelope with your name on the outside along with Chloe Zernicke Memorial Scholarship. 

Recipient will receive instructions the night of the scholarship banquet on how to collect their funds. 

The primary objective of this grant is to support those graduates who may encounter unique or formidable financial barriers.

To ensure an equitable distribution of this grant, we propose the following criteria for candidates:

1. Essay Requirement: Applicants are asked to submit an essay outlining their need for the grant funds and detailing their intended use of the funds. This essay should provide insights into the financial challenges they may face and how the grant would contribute to their ability to pursue their chosen career path immediately after graduation.
2. Academic Achievement: While not the sole criterion, preference will be given to applicants with a proven record of academic achievement during their high school years.
3. Career Path: Priority will be given to candidates pursuing skilled labor career paths.
4. Commitment to Community: Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to giving back to the community, either through volunteer work or other forms of community involvement.

To reiterate, this grant program is specifically designed for graduates who have opted not to pursue secondary education but are instead entering the workforce directly. The funds are intended to assist these individuals in overcoming financial obstacles as they embark on their career journeys immediately after graduation.

Applicants should submit their application to the School Counselor by April 1st each year.

Criteria to be eligible:

Graduating senior of Bonduel High School

Must attend a college, university or technical college

Must have a minumun GPA of 3.8

Requirements for Application:

1. Please list your schools that you have applied for and been accepted?
2. Any Bonduel high school football player who has participated in Varsity Football for at least 2 years.
3. Please write an essay (300-350 words) that answers the following question.
   1. How has playing football impacted you as a person and/or student?
4. Applicants can be pursuing a Technical College Degree or a 4-year degree.
5. Please write a brief description of your future plans for your area of study.

• Scholarship money will be awarded after proof of 1^st Semester grades and proof of Spring enrollment classes.

Amount of scholarship: $500

This scholarship is to be submitted to the School Counselor office by April 1^st.

Criteria:

• Senior must be graduating from Bonduel High School
• Senior must be accepted to a college at time of award
• Community service minded

Requirements for Application:

2. Any Bonduel high school athlete (male or female) who has participated in sports 2 years (6 sport seasons total).  List out the sports you have participated in and what years you were in those sports for the full season.

                         12th grade—Football, track

3. Essay (300-350 words)

The Al Tauchen Memorial Scholarship was created to honor and remember an amazing individual in the Bonduel community. His legacy started at Bonduel High School when he was a member of the wrestling, football, and track teams. Known for his genuine smile, laugh, and kindness, Al went on to make a true impact on the community throughout his life. He raised his family of four sons in Bonduel where they were especially active in the football and wrestling programs, along with track and baseball. Al could always be seen either volunteering at these events or cheering on each and every player. He was a friendly face to new parents and players, wanting to make sure everyone felt welcome and a part of the team. Even after his boys graduated from the programs, Al was still an avid Bonduel Bears fan attending as many events as he could throughout the year. His family knows he loved the Bonduel High School athletic programs, as well as athletes, and want to continue to support them in his honor.

Critera for scholarship:

*Applicant must be a graduating senior at Bonduel High School

*Senior must be pursuing a degree/program in Horticulture/Plant Science, Forestry, Landscaping, etc.

*Graduating senior must have at least a 2.0 GPA and be accepted to a program by time of award.

Disbursement: Will be disbursed in the spring semester of your first year of college (Jan/Feb)

Teacher Selection committee will choose recipient. Recipient will be announced at Senior Awards Banquet in May of senior year.

• The parent/guardian(s), or individual applicant must be a patron of Bonduel Equity Livestock Shipping Association and provide their Patron #.

• Student must be accepted into an accredited college, university, trade or technical institute.

• Scholarship will be paid to the Institute after recipient(s) gives proof to the Association of their 2.0 GPA and second semester enrollment at a post-secondary institution. Recipient(s) have one year to provide proper paperwork.

• Completed applications must be turned into the high school guidance office by April 1.

Scholarship Criteria:

• Applicant must have a GPA of at least 2.5.
• Applicant must have played high school football and/or golf for 3 years.
• This scholarship can be given to a student pursuing a 4-year degree, technical college degree or post-secondary training.
• Applicant must be accepted to a program/college by Senior Awards Banquet.

Larry Reisner Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is to provide students entering into the medical field with the opportunity to seek higher education. This scholarship will be for $500 and will be awarded to a Bonduel High School Student each year. To be eligible, students must meet the following criteria:

• Be a graduate of Bonduel High School.
• Student must be accepted into an accredited college, university or technical institute.
• Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or a “B” average.
• Must be seeking higher education in a medical field to include medical doctor, nurse, nursing assistant, physical therapist, lab technician, rehabilitative care specialist or medical research.
• This student should show a strong work ethic, be motivated, be diverse in their activities, show academic promise and be community minded.
• This student must show compassion for others, be kind, caring and a humanitarian.

There is no application.  Seniors should submit a 300 word essay answering the following question:  

?Since a career in the medical field would require compassion and the desire to help others, what do you do or have you done, voluntarily to "make a difference" in someone's day or life?

Make sure you have put your name, college accepted to, and field pursuing in top right corner. Turn into Mrs. Pleshek.

• Student should be entering the Natural Resources field
• GPA average of 3.0 first semester of college
• Proof of enrollment into the second semester of college
• Student must commit to 4 hours of volunteer time to help with a club project.
  • Work at the Fishing Derby (February 6, 2027)

The Tom Flanagan Wrestling Scholarship.  

​​​​​​​Tom Flanagan was a long-time head coach for Bonduel when wrestling first started in our school. Coach Flanagan retired from coaching wrestling in 1982 after leading the Bonduel Bears to many successful seasons and teaching many young men the sport of wrestling. The wrestling club feels that honoring him by naming our wrestling scholarship in his name is very fitting. 

• The recipient will be chosen based on accomplishments, leadership, character, teamwork, GPA, and rank in class
• The scholarship may be split among multiple recipients
• Must have participated in wrestling

• Must be enrolled in technical college
• Must be an all-around student (character, leadership, positive person)
• Prefer a student with financial need

• Any senior who is or has been a student council member is eligible to apply

• Must be enrolled in a technical college or 4 year university
  • 4 scholarships will be awarded to 4 students who will be attending a technical college;
  • 4 scholarships will be awarded to 4 students who will be attending a 4-year college.
• Recipients of the scholarship must work a shift at the Bonduel Corn Roast first Friday in August.  The shift will be 4 hours; 5pm-9pm.

• Any graduating senior from Bonduel High School is eligible for the scholarships.
• In order to be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant must be enrolled as of the beginning of second semester of their freshman year. Proof of enrollment will be required.
• The scholarship will be paid on or after the 15^th of January if the applicant is a full-time student at that time.
• Selection of scholarship winners will be made by the Lions members.

• Given out by the Bonduel Educaiton Association
• 200-300 word essay should be attached to the application

• Must be enrolled in a 4 year college
• Must be pursuing a degree in business

Qualifications

• Graduating senior from Shawano Community High School, Gresham Community High School, Bonduel High School
• Must be enrolled on a full-time basis in a conservation related field (fish management, agriculture, soil or water, forestry, or law enforcement)

Obligation of Recipient

• The scholarship amount of $1000 will be made payable to the student after the first fall semester with proof of registration for the second semester
• The selected candidate must show evidence of at least a 2.0 grade point average in the first post-graduate grading period while being registered as a full-time student (minimum 12 credits)
• The selected candidate must provide evidence that he/she is enrolled in school for the next period’s classes as a full-time student (minimum 12 credits)
• If the selected candidate does not respond by the end of February, the scholarship will be cancelled.

Application and Selection

• Applicants must complete the BHS application form
• Selection will be made by the Scholarship Committee of the Wisconsin Deerhunters, Inc., Shawano Chapter

Collection of Award

• The winner will be presented at the high school awards ceremony

Premier Community Bank Scholarship

Requirements include:

• Submission of an application no later than April 1.  Please put your name and address in top right corner---essay and community service hours to follow on page/s.
• A Senior placing in the upper one-half of the graduating class at the time of application
• Submission of an essay (250-word maximum) outlining future goals.
• Description of community service performed and hours volunteered during high school career.

Recipient will receive the $500 scholarship from Premier Community Bank after the completion of their first semester with a 2.5 grade point average and proof of their continued enrollment in a college or Technical School.  Scholarship requirements must be submitted no later than one year from date of certificate for payment.
